how to write a metaphor essay?

Like all my other essays, I started with severe writers block. This was expected, as I didn’t know any metaphor that would summarize my writing. The feeling was so terrible, that I felt like an incompetent writer. Once I calmed myself down, I began reflecting on my writing process. Unfortunately, I couldn’t pinpoint one certain type of emotion that I experienced as a writer, except for ambiguity and randomness. In some of my pieces, I remember feeling like I was on top of the world and knew that my paper was going to receive an A. Other times, I felt stranded and had no idea where to start my essay, similar to the feeling I felt when starting my metaphor essay. I then began thinking what was similar to this emotional roller coaster that I had endured as a kid. I again got writers block and decided to take a break. I went on Facebook and the first thing I saw was my ex-girlfriend from high school. My heart sunk, but I soon realized that she was the answer. The high school puppy love I had for her, made me feel great sometimes, but other times made me feel terriable. I could never tell what the next day would bring and was always afraid what was to come next. I thought this was a great metaphor that resembled my writing.
