-How did America change because of the presidency of Andrew Jackson?
Throughout the years, almost every president has changed the United States in some way. Some changed it for the better, and some changed it for the worse, but that all depends on your own personal perspectives. During Andrew Jackson's term, he managed to change the United States in many ways. The removal of the Indians, the "killing" of the Bank of the United States (B.U.S.), and the use of the Spoils System are all decision made by Jackson that caused changes in the United States.
One of the changes that occurred in the United States during Jackson's term was the Indian Removal Act of 1830. Jackson felt that people could not prosper if they were being oppressed with the conflicts of the Indians. Jackson tries to convince the Indians that they will prosper by moving to a different place with a mild climate and a large amount of fertile land in order to support their tribes. He also offers them things like ammunition and clothing. The Indians are forced to the western side of the Mississippi River, which was land that had not rarely ever been explored, much less settled. This changed the ways of life for the Indians, and it began to stretch the boundaries of the United States westward.
Another change that occurred in the United States as a result of Jackson's presidency was the "killing" of the Bank of the United States. Jackson was very suspicious of banks conservative credit policies, and he believed that the B.U.S. brought about the Panic of 1819. Jackson hated everything about the B.U.S., and he even despised the president, Nicholas Biddle. As a result, Jackson forced everyone to place any new deposits in smaller "pet" banks. By doing this, the B.U.S. would eventually run out of money and be "killed". This action resulted in a huge change in the way the money was kept and the way the economy was ran.
